The Prism Contest is the annual writing & art contest for students at Ferris State University.  Student work is judged blind by members of the Department of Languages and Literature at FSU, and winners are honored at an annual reception and in an annual journal. I am the contest coordinator.

The Journal of Literacy and Technology is a peer-reviewed international online academic journal.  I founded the journal in 2000, and served as its executive editor for five years.  I am currently on the editorial board and serve as a reader for manuscripts.

SecondLife is a 3-d interactive virtual world.  There is a very active poetry scene with writers’ groups and readings daily.  I exist in SL as the avatar Jon Thistle.  Many SL poetry events are posted on the website The Apple Poetry Magazine.
